Young Quicks

Arnoldo Torres, known professionally as Young Quicks, is a Mexican-American hip-hop artist from Oxnard, California, whose bilingual bars, sharp storytelling, and cultural pride have made him a standout voice in both the West Coast and Latin hip-hop scenes. With over a decade of independent grind behind him, Young Quicks has remained true to his roots while building a fanbase across the U.S. and Latin America.

Beyond music, his dedication to community empowerment has earned him awards from the City of OxnardCounty of Ventura, and the Autism Society of Ventura, recognizing his impact both in and out of the booth.

Career Highlights:

Most recently, Young Quicks made waves with his hometown anthem “Oxnard,” which became a local classic and earned daily rotation on Q95.9 FM, solidifying his voice as one of the 805’s most prominent. His sound crossed into sports culture when he walked pro boxing champ Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios into the ring four times, putting his music on a global stage.

He reached a major industry milestone with the Erick Sermon-produced “The Best Side.” The legendary EPMD member gave Quicks a shoutout live on KDAY, which led to their collaboration and a rare bicoastal bridge in hip-hop.

Quicks made headlines internationally after appearing on a project by C-Kan, one of Latin America’s most influential rappers. He continued building cross-cultural bridges with his all-Spanish album, “International,” featuring Dyablo and Kid Frost, showcasing his ability to move seamlessly between English and Spanish hip-hop.

His tribute track “Robert Garcia” gained widespread attention after being featured on WorldStarHipHop, further establishing his presence in the boxing and hip-hop worlds.

He has also been featured on Baby Bash’s "Playa Made Mexicans 3" and on Mellow Man Ace’s 2024 release "Walk, Talk", aligning him with pioneers of Latin rap.

Young Quicks had his own weekly radio segment for two years on 103.3 The Vibe (KVYB) in Ventura County. Every Friday morning, he hosted “The Weekly Rap-UP” on Spencer Fischer’s morning show, bringing local listeners a fresh take on hip-hop news and culture.

As a teenager, he appeared on Univision’s Gordo y La Flaca and was featured on the front page of AOL Latino, a rare spotlight for an emerging independent artist at the time.
